
Korean soprano Binny-Supin Yang is currently in her second year at the Royal Academy Opera, where she studies with Mary Nelson and Jonathan Papp. She is generously supported by the Academy Bicentenary Scholarship and Hyundai Motor Chung Mong- Koo Arts & Culture Foundation.
In 2025, Binny joins the Leeds Song Young Artist Programme and is a semi-finalist in the Kathleen Ferrier Awards. Later this season she performs First Niece Peter Grimes for British Youth Opera and joins Opera Confidencen’s Young Artist Programme, specialising in Baroque repertoire.
On the operatic stage, she has appeared in Königin der Nacht in Die Zauberflöte (Mozart) under the baton of Olivia Clarke; as Gretel in Hänsel und Gretel (Humperdinck) under the baton of Johann Stuckenbruck; Emmie in Albert Herring (Britten) under the baton of Geoffrey Paterson; Dalindain Ariodante (Handel) under the baton of David Bates; Madame Herz in Die Schauspieldirektor (Mozart) and Blonde in Die Entführung aus dem Serail (Mozart) for the opera scenes, under the baton of Peter Robinson.
Binny has performed in concert venues across Korea and the UK, including the Korea Cultural Centre in the UK, Kumho Art Hall Yonsei and Wigmore Hall, where she performed solo recitals. Her performances have also captivated audiences at the Seoul Arts Centre, Busan Culture Centre, and the Italian Cultural Institute. She is a member of the Academy Song Circle and a Josephine Baker Trust Artist. She is an alumna of the Georg Solti Accademia and a former Emerging Artist with Seoul Arts Centre and Kumho Arts Foundation.
Binny completed her undergraduate degree at Seoul National University. followed by her Master’s degree with distinction from the Royal Academy of Music as an ABRSM International Postgraduate Scholar.
